Allot of my early work was also influenced by film design. Such as sets, and matte paintings incorporated into the moving image. This painting has hints of many films ive watched..

This was something id been working on at home, which the band saw partially finished. It consequently became my first Death Metal cover. Prior to that id been making album covers for British thrash bands like Warfare, and Hydravein. Even though I was 18 when i did it, i still think its quite interesting. Its not supposed to be spherical as has been suggested. Its more like a flat disk made of a fossil material, that has captured souls.

There's allot going on in this painting. Lots of little worlds within the one image, small details that elude to bigger story. The machine is made up from scrap debris and organic matter, collected from the tortured and twisted landscape. Because the machine is also partially organic, it needs to feed on any lifeforms available in order to process the genetic information, and incubate its new breed of life.
